Resumo:
This dissertation aims to present the results of the master's research undertaken on
the tradition of orality, as well as how knowledge is transmitted within the universe of
capoeira. In this way, this qualitative research of an exploratory nature, used, among
other resources, memory, orality and consequently the narratives and experiences of
capoeira masters from Santo Amaro/BA, allowing us to contemplate Afro-centered
specificities, characteristics, epistemology and worldview, as well as the trajectories of
the masters who masterfully transmit it in this territory. Thus, the present work
contributes, through a post-colonial perspective, to reflections which concern the
themes focused on the transmission of knowledge through orality present in capoeira
circles in Santo Amaro in Recôncavo Baiano.
