Resumo:
This work is divided into three parts: a memorial, an article, and a final product. The memorial
contains accounts of the professional trajectory and, consequently, the motivation for the theme
of this master's degree. The second part presents an article that aims to understand the
competencies necessary for the treatment and dissemination of musicographic documents in
Music Performance Libraries, as well as the positions and available training for these
professionals in Brazil. In this part, we can perceive that professionals working in these sectors
need to have interdisciplinary knowledge, but the training options are insufficient in Brazil,
making it difficult to form teams capable of performing functions efficiently and assisting in
the development of this field of work. Finally, we have the final product, which comprises a
book for the dissemination of this knowledge, aimed at people interested in this field of work,
who are beginning to work with these collections or who wish to deepen their knowledge. It
aims to be a resource for those who can strengthen the treatment of musical collections and,
consequently, the execution and preservation of Brazilian music. In this book, we present
technical aspects of the activities carried out daily in these spaces, such as material preparation,
distribution, organization, cataloging, and safeguarding. This book does not claim to present all
the knowledge of this field of work or impose technical standards; on the contrary, it intends to
offer a practical tool that enables deeper exploration of the topic and fosters discussions.
