Resumo:
This study aims to propose improvements in the museological documentation of the
Sacred Art Museum of the Federal University of Bahia (MAS-UFBA), focusing on the
requalification of registration sheets and the organization of the collection cataloging
system. Through historical analysis, it was possible to map the evolution of the
documentary instruments used in the museum and identify gaps that compromise the
management of the collection, such as duplicate numbering, lack of specific fields in
the registration sheets, and inconsistencies in cataloging. The methodology is based
on a qualitative and documentary approach, which included analysis, technical
diagnoses and the elaboration of a new registration form proposal, which
incorporates additional fields. The results highlight the importance of museum
documentation as a basis for the preservation, valorization and research of cultural
heritage, highlighting the need for personalized solutions for the MAS-UFBA context.
This study contributes to strengthening museological practice and offers support for
future interventions and research in the sector.
