Resumo:
The present research has the general objective of highlighting the role of women in science based on the information actions mapped in the correspondence from the personal collection of the professor-researcher Sonia Andrade, as well as in her Lattes Curriculum. The research is characterized as descriptive in terms of its objectives and as documentary and a case study in terms of its technical procedures. In terms of approach, the research is both quantitative and qualitative. Given the substantial volume of correspondence that makes up the personal collection of professor-researcher Sonia Andrade, it was decided to investigate selected correspondence using non-probability convenience sampling, as well as Sonia Andrade’s Lattes Curriculum. The results highlighted information mediation actions such as scientific
production and information dissemination, as well as relational actions like teaching/research activities. The results from the Lattes Curriculum showed a productive professor-researcher, with 27 student supervisions from master's and doctoral programs in the Graduate Program in Human Pathology, in addition to a total of 200 outputs, including articles, book chapters, conference papers, and lectures. As for the correspondence, it revealed an active professor researcher and leader in the field of Chagas disease, with awards, invitations, and participation in national and international events. It is concluded that the personal archives of scientists are a revealing source of information.
