Resumo:
This Master’s degree thesis aims to carry out an intervention and conservation project at Solar da Baronesa de Limeira, located in the Sé neighborhood in the city of São Paulo. Built in the late 19th century, a period of great growth for the state and city of São Paulo due to the coffee boom, the building is an important remnant of the old "rent houses", commonly found in the coffee society, and is part of the architectural complex of Largo de São Francisco. The Solar is listed by the municipal heritage of São Paulo (CONPRESP), which ensures its historical, architectural, artistic and cultural relevance for the capital. The conservation and architectural intervention proposal that will be developed thus seeks to provide full conservation of the Solar da Baronesa de Limeira, respecting its historical and cultural value, while adapting it to contemporary demands for use, accessibility and sustainability. The work contributes to the reflection on the challenges of preserving urban architectural heritage in a dynamic context, which has undergone several transformations throughout its existence, such as downtown São Paulo.
