Resumo:
The dams built more than 50 years ago, with the purpose of storing water for power
generation in the state of Santa Catarina, were executed within a less rigorous context in terms
of standards and guidelines. Knowing that currently, not all met the stability criteria of
Eletrobrás, which requires meeting the safety factors for global stability, under loading
conditions for Recurrence Time (TR) of 1000 years, and it was still necessary to meet the
National Dam Safety Policy, which arose after approval of Law No. 12,334, of September 20,
2010, entrepreneurs needed guidance to verify that the structures that make up the bus shacks
in their power plants were meeting the new guidelines. With the purpose of guiding
entrepreneurs, a procedure was developed for safety assessment in structures with more than
50 years in the state of Santa Catarina. The procedure was successfully applied at the Celso
Ramos SHP, belonging to Celesc Geração.
