Resumo:
The area of dam safety deserves a constant evolution, from the most complex and daring
fields, to the simplest and routine mechanisms, such as visual inspection. This important
instrument is often the starting point of several other main actions. The Model presented in
2002 through the Safety and Inspection Manual for Dams (MI) has brought a great advance.
With the advent of Law 12.334 of 2010, successive regulations, technical work and more
recently in 2016 the Guidance and Formulation for Dam Safety Inspection Guide (ANA),
subsidizes us with vast technical content. There is better guidance to prepare an inspection
form that allows a greater representation of real conditions in the verification of the
‘nonconformities’ of a retaining structure, with diagnosis of priority actions to be taken. The
aim herein was to demonstrate the need for a more simplified form, which is more consistent
with the qualifications of the inspectors. A model applied for Earth Dams was proposed.
