Resumo:
Dengue is one of the viral diseases transmitted by mosquitoes of the Aedes genus, which occupies a significant place in public health campaigns in Brazil. Four antigenically distinct serotypes are currently known. Factors such as mutations, recombinations, host susceptibility and gene flow of DENV serotypes have caused a greater predisposition to this diversity. In order to investigate the existence of DENV-1 variants in the state of Bahia, in addition to the RT-qPCR technique for the detection of DENV-1, the sequencing technique and phylogenetic analysis of the sequenced regions were used. Analysis of the aligned sequences showed several new SNPs, not present in any of the other strains analyzed.
