Resumo:
The work approaches the algorithmic mediation and its relationship with the information filtering process and the “filter bubble” effect for Information Science. The problem is the algorithmic mediation practices of filtering information and its relationship with this effect. It uses the literature review method on the proposed theme and direct observation with digital platforms that make use of filtering. It is concluded that the filtering of information and the “filter bubble” build up a controlled information environment through unknown purposes, generating influences on the informational, social, cultural and political contexts of society.
