Resumo:
Wind is one of the renewable energy sources that has expanded its use for electricity generation in the world in recent years, especially in Brazil. Wind Energy has been working to expand and diversify the Brazilian Electricity Matrix, helping to preserve its energy security and renewable predominance. The Northeast Region has excellent potential in terms of wind energy, and the State of Bahia stands out for having wind potential between 70.0 GW at 100.0 m in height and 195.0 GW at 150.0 m in height. , at winds of 7.0 m/s. Electricity generation in Bahia from 2013 to the present still comes mostly from the plants of Companhia Hidrelétrica do São Francisco (CHESF), but this scenario is already changing due to the insertion of wind energy. With this in mind, this article evaluates and projects electricity supply/demand scenarios for 2050 in Bahia and Brazil, focusing on the growth potential of concentrated wind power generation in Bahia.
