Resumo:
The survival or longevity of the organizations has been a theme of strong interest
of undertaker community, researchers and governmental orgs. The objective of
this study: (1) to upraise the Business History of some institutions that were wide
corporations and had the necessity to enclose their activities; (2) also, to analyze
the Business History of organizations that appeared in society, many times of
small bearing, but which have maintained themselves by the years, winning
obstacles that appeared to them. The research realized was characterized as a
descriptive and qualitative investigation and the chosen method to the
development of this study was the Oral History. The object of this study is
constituted of shoes commercial companies existing in Bahia State, which acted
during the nineties, having success or failure. During the development of this
study, the attention was centered on the manager figure, on his role, on his
importance, in the preparing that this director/leader needs to have to assume the
functions with efficiency and efficacy. The contact with the undertaker practices
favored to conclusions of attributes that the manager needs to dispose or
developer.
