Resumo:
This e-book contains the proceedings of the IV Latin American and European Meeting on Sustainable Buildings and Communities (EuroELECS 2021), an innovative scientific event that aims to bridge the gap between the academic environment, society, theory and practice, connecting European countries with Latin American countries. Initially the event would be hosted at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), in the city of Salvador, however, due to the global crisis situation that has been plaguing the world since 2020, this edition was entirely online, with the central theme: Sustainability and resilience, new models for a (post)pandemic world? The target audience was made up of undergraduate and graduate students, researchers, professors, professionals in the field of civil construction, architects and urban planners, civil engineers, entrepreneurs, representatives of the public sector and civil society, in general, who were interested in the various topics covered. This fourth edition was structured around eight guiding thematic axes: 1. Materials, techniques and construction systems; 2. Resources and waste; 3. Public policies and cities: safety, inclusion and quality of life; 4. Social housing: quality, technology and innovation; 5. Urban mobility and accessibility; 6. Education and technology transfer; 7. Health and the built environment; 8. More sustainable infrastructure and systems.
