Resumo:
Brazil needs to expand and diversify its Electrical Matrix in order to preserve the
national energy security and its renewable predominance. This is possible through coherent energy planning, adequate public policies and new investments. Renewable energies are consolidating as alternatives for energy diversification in the
world. Based on this, this work is an study on the new renewable energies and
the electric sector in Brazil and Bahia. It assesses supply/demand scenarios for
electricity from 2013 to 2050, with emphasis on the growth potential of the centralised power generation by new renewable sources (Wind, Solar Photovoltaic
and Bioelectricity) in Electrical Matrix of Bahia and considering some indicators of
sustainability of these energies.
