Resumo:
Urban violence is one of the most serious public problems in Brazilian society. There is a popular call for more security, revealed in various opinion polls. The challenge that is presented is the formulation and implementation of public security policies capable of reducing the indicators of violent crime. In this material, we will have access to a detailed diagnosis of the situation of violent crime in Brazilian society. It will be important to understand the meaning of the expression Public Security. More than a concept, it reveals historical changes in the way the State conceives its relationship with society in the control of criminality.
