The Geographical Indications (GI) offer the consumer the opportunity to purchase &#13;
products with Identification of Origin while giving the producing region the possibility &#13;
of adding value to the product and consequent territorial development. The GIs are &#13;
an intellectual property asset and are regulated nationally by Law No. 9,279, of May &#13;
14, 1996, the regulatory framework for Industrial Property in Brazil. The recognition of &#13;
a GI deals with the registration of a condition that already exists, due to the &#13;
verification of the existence of the notoriety of the place related to a product or, in the &#13;
case of Brazil, also a service. However, it is necessary to comply with the relevant &#13;
legislation, as well as the recommendations of good practices, in order to provide &#13;
better quality and safety to products and/or services and production processes. In &#13;
addition, innovation must be an ally of tradition, especially with regard to the &#13;
production of safe food. The municipality of Santa Bárbara, Bahia, located in the &#13;
context of the Portal do Sertão identity territory, gained notoriety for producing &#13;
cottage cheese in an artisanal way, presenting potential for a possible Geographical &#13;
Indication. Thus, the objective of this research was to evaluate the feasibility of &#13;
registering a Geographical Indication for cottage cheese produced in the municipality &#13;
of Santa Bárbara-BA, identifying the potentialities and challenges in the light of the &#13;
Methodology of the Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae) for the &#13;
Identification of Potential Brazilian Geographical Indications. The Sebrae &#13;
Methodology is composed of 30 items, within critical and structural criteria, which &#13;
supported the construction of a Conclusive Technical Report on the possible &#13;
recognition of the GI, in the Indication of Origin (IO) modality, for the artisanal cheese &#13;
of Santa Bárbara-BA. The research was exploratory and descriptive, since there are &#13;
few studies on the aforementioned cottage cheese and on its possibility of requesting &#13;
registration for GI recognition. The approach was qualitative, and, for the survey of &#13;
primary data, field visits, conversation circles and the adoption of a Google Forms &#13;
questionnaire were carried out. Secondary data were obtained through bibliographic &#13;
search, using the consultation of various databases, institutional repositories, &#13;
government websites and legislation. Topics related to GI registration, the curd and &#13;
milk production chain, seals of artisanal products, as well as characteristics of the &#13;
municipality and the Portal do Sertão territory are addressed. As a result, the study of &#13;
the scenario of the artisanal cheese production chain in Santa Bárbara-BA pointed &#13;
out as one of the biggest challenges the need for interaction between local producers &#13;
and the COAFASB Cooperative, which can appear as a procedural substitute &#13;
capable of submitting the application for registration of GI with the National Institute &#13;
of Industrial Property (INPI). On the other hand, potentials capable of contributing to &#13;
the search for adding value to the product and the preservation of the culture and &#13;
tradition of the municipality were identified. In summary, this research demonstrated &#13;
that the artisanal cheese of Santa Bárbara-BA has the potential to be recognized as &#13;
a Geographical Indication, through the necessary adjustments and provided for in the &#13;
relevant legislation, as well as overcoming the biggest bottleneck, which is the lack of &#13;
engagement between producers and the interaction with the COAFASB Cooperative. &#13;
In view of the above, this research, among other benefits, aims to contribute to the &#13;
strengthening of the artisanal cheese and milk production chain, by stimulating the &#13;
formalization of the production of artisanal cheese and improving the quality of the &#13;
product, which may provide an increase in employability in the agricultural sector and &#13;
the incentive to public policies, such as the Food Acquisition Program (PAA).

Collective brands are symbols that distinguish products and services on the market, linked to a collective, without necessarily being linked to a territory. However, in a city, traditional places of occupation can be identified where specific products and services are sold. In Salvador, Bahia, the Historic Center presents itself as a place of convergence of groups of formal and informal entrepreneurs, linked to a Creative Economy, in which cultural resources are seen as important assets that generate economic growth and development. The goal of the present work was to study the potential of collective branding as a strategy for enhancing the Creative Economy of the Historic Center territory in Salvador, Bahia. To this end, an exploratory qualitative study was carried out, using bibliographical, normative and documentary researches. In order to characterize the territory, a survey of the businesses in the Historic Center linked to the Creative Economy was carried out and compared with the Cultural Domains of the Creative Economy in Bahia, according to the Bahia Superintendence of Economic and Social Studies. The survey showed that most of the businesses in the Historic Center belong to Activities Related to the Creative Segment and Cultural Activities, led by gastronomy and the craftwork. It was also possible to identify the territorial assets that make up the local identity. Finally, by analyzing the results in relation to current regulations, the potential and obstacles to registration were identified, concluding that the region has the potential for a collective brand that represents the entrepreneurs of the Historic Center, with benefits for improving economic conditions through distinction, adding value, collective affirmation and visibility of products and services.

This research sought to analyze the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the development of patents. The research problem refers to the question&#13;
of whether AI technology can be considered as an Inventor in itself, and hold a patent: what are the main considerations and arguments for&#13;
refusing this idea in the present scenario? Consequently, to achieve this multidisciplinary undertaking to study the interface between AI and patents, it was necessary to apply a perspective also centered on data&#13;
analysis, IOT (internet of things), machine learning, Big data and new technologies in the age of the digital revolution, evaluating the algorithmic characteristic of black boxing. In addition, the studies&#13;
necessarily covered the contextualization and criteria of legal responsibility, personality rights and contractual relations as fundamental factors to support the thesis discussed here. The studies&#13;
briefly addressed the regulatory aspects and legislative policies of AI in the international context, providing a perspective of comparative law.&#13;
The work tried to address some of the issues of transparency and ethics involved in this problematic topic, bringing the concept of cui bono to&#13;
justify the impossibility of granting a patent to AI. Therefore, this research work encompassed the advantages and disadvantages involved in the AI scenario, demonstrating improved performance and results of its use in the industrial property area, according to business&#13;
practices and techniques, and the ethical parameters that must be pursued by society, to develop a transparent and reliable use of AI, as a tool, especially related to the patent system. The conclusions refer to&#13;
the legal impossibility of AI to be currently considered as the inventor of a patentable creation.

This master thesis compiles all of the authors production developed during PROFNIT master’s course, the 7 products detailed bellow were developed using the author’s professional expertise as the Clinical Research Coordinator of CEPARH (Center for Research and Assistance in Human Reproduction), acting in the field of women’s health. Among them you will find two published papers detailing technological patent prospections, the first dealing with uses of Resveratrol, the second dealing with cancer vaccine technologies. The author also produced in co authorship two chapters of the PROFNIT book series. As well as a minute for the protocol phase 3, clinal trial, with the purpose of establishing a combined resveratrol and pycnogenol treatment to counteract the vicissitudes of climacteric symptoms. As well as two social media publicity campaigns one with intellectual property as its subject and another detailing the rights of women with cancer.
