<summary type="text">Financeirização e segurança social
Rodrigues, João; Santos, Ana Cordeiro; Sampaio, Nuno Jorge Rodrigues Teles
This chapter seeks to scrutinize the transformations that have occurred in Portugal in the field of pensions, framing them through the national specificities of the process of financialization of the economy, considered semi-peripheral (Lapavitsas, 2013; Rodrigues et al., 2016). The pension provision system in our country has been undergoing intense changes in recent years, in line with strong trends promoted by European and global policies. This international trend began to manifest itself nationally even before the 2011 adjustment program, with the 2007 reform being one of its milestones.
