Abstract: | Na Educação Profissional, o ensino de Língua Inglesa se revela de grande importância, pois para galgar postos de trabalho mais bem remunerados e se destacar é necessário conhecer um segundo idioma. Portanto, o ensino de uma língua moderna surge como uma possibilidade para melhor qualificar os alunos dos cursos técnicos para o mercado de trabalho, além de facilitar o acesso às mais variadas informações e culturas disponíveis. O questionamento que este estudo traz é se o ensino de Língua Inglesa no IFSERTÃO-PE contribui para a formação global do aluno no Ensino Médio Integrado? Ademais, possui como objetivo geral compreender o uso da Língua Inglesa no contexto dos alunos do Ensino Médio Integrado do campus Petrolina do IFSERTÃO-PE. Os objetivos específicos foram: a) Investigar o contexto particular do uso da Língua Inglesa dos alunos do Ensino Médio Integrado, bem como a sua aplicação no cotidiano discente; e, b) Propor atividades motivadoras para integrar o vocabulário dos alunos do Ensino Médio Integrado com o estudo academicamente organizado pela escola. A metodologia empregada foi o do estudo de caso com abordagem qualitativa. O local da pesquisa foi o IF Sertão campus Petrolina e os sujeitos do estudo foram alunos e professores. Para a coleta de dados foram utilizadas a pesquisa bibliográfica e a aplicação de entrevistas semiestruturadas com dois professores e grupo focal com 12 alunos que autorizaram a realização da pesquisa mediante a assinatura do Termo de Consentimento Livre e Esclarecido e o amparo ético legal pautado na Resolução 466/12 do Conselho Nacional de Saúde. Os resultados apontaram que tanto alunos quanto professores entrevistados reconhecem a necessidade da Língua Inglesa para a atualidade, mas que desenvolver a competência comunicativa global no Ensino Médio Integrado como preconiza os documentos oficiais é uma tarefa a longo prazo, uma vez que, para que isso aconteça é necessário o estudo paulatino e eficaz da língua ao longo da vida estudantil. ABSTRACT In Professional Education, English language teaching proves to be of great importance, because in order to reach higher paying jobs and to stand out, it is necessary to know a second language. Therefore, the teaching of a modern language emerges as a possibility to better qualify the students of the technical courses for the labor market, besides facilitating the access to the most varied information and cultures available. The question that this study brings is whether the teaching of English Language in the IF Sertão-PE contributes to the overall formation of the student in the Integrated High School? In addition, it has as general objective to understand the use of the English language in the context of the Integrated High School students of the Petrolina campus of IF Sertão-PE. The specific objectives were: a) To investigate the particular context of the use of the English language of the students of the Integrated High School, as well as its application in the everyday students; and b) To propose motivational activities to integrate the vocabulary of the students of the Integrated High School with the study academically organized by the school. The methodology used was that of the case study with a qualitative approach. The research site was the IF Sertão campus Petrolina and the subjects of the study were students and teachers. To collect data, we used bibliographical research and the application of semi-structured interviews with two teachers and a focus group with 12 students who authorized the research to be carried out by signing the Term of Free and Informed Consent and the legal ethical protection. The results showed that both students and teachers interviewed recognize the need for English language for the present, but that developing the global communicative competence in Integrated Higher Education as it advocates official documents is a long-term task, since for this to happen it is necessary to study gradually and effectively the language throughout the student life. |
