CRENÇAS DE PROFESSORES SOBRE A COMPETÊNCIA COMUNICATIVA E A PERSPECTIVA INTERCULTURAL NO ENSINO-APRENDIZAGEM DE PORTUGUÊS LÍNGUA MATERNA

Abstract

Considerando que o conceito de crenças é muito importante para o ensino-aprendizagem de línguas, tendo em vista que sua conscientização poderá redundar em mudanças positivas na prática dos professores, principalmente porque “as crenças exercem um forte impacto em nosso comportamento” (BARCELOS, 2006, p. 25), o principal objetivo desta pesquisa qualitativa de cunho etnográfico consiste em investigar as crenças de professores sobre a competência comunicativa e perspectiva intercultural no ensino-aprendizagem de português língua materna, face à realidade da sala de aula, dos documentos orientadores e dos materiais didáticos utilizados em algumas escolas estaduais de Itabuna. Para alcançar tal objetivo, nós contamos com a participação de 10 (dez) professoras colaboradoras da pesquisa e utilizamos como instrumentos de coleta de dados, um questionário sobre crenças, uma entrevista semiestruturada, registro etnográfico por meio de notas de campo em sala de aula e narrativas autobiográficas. Realizamos também a análise de 2 (dois) livros didáticos que estavam sendo utilizados nas escolas estaduais no momento da pesquisa e verificamos o tratamento desse tema nos principais documentos balizadores do ensino de português língua materna do Ensino Médio. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam para a necessidade de incluir a reflexão crítica sobre as crenças inerentes à competência comunicativa e perspectiva intercultural sob o viés da Linguística Aplicada, nos cursos de formação e em sala de aula de português língua materna, ensejando a problematização das diferenças e identidades, o foco no uso significativo da língua e o reconhecimento do protagonismo da linguagem na construção de uma sociedade mais pacífica, justa e solidária.

Considering that the concept of beliefs is very important for language teaching and learning, bearing in mind that their awareness can lead to positive changes in teachers' practice, mainly because "[…] beliefs have a strong impact on our behavior" (BARCELOS, 2006, p. 25), the main objective of this qualitative research of ethnographic basis is to investigate the teachers' beliefs about communicative competence and intercultural perspective in the teaching-learning of portuguese mother tongue, in view of the reality of the classroom, the guiding documents and the didactic materials used in some state schools of Itabuna. In order to achieve this goal, we count on the participation of ten (10) teachers who collaborated with the research and we use as instruments of data collection a questionnaire about beliefs, a semi-structured interview, ethnographic registration through classroom field notes and autobiographical narratives. We also carried out the analysis of two (2) textbooks that were being used in the state schools at the time of the research and we verified the treatment of this theme in the main documents that validate the teaching of the portuguese mother tongue of High School. The results of the research point to the need to include critical reflection on the beliefs inherent to communicative competence and intercultural perspective under the bias of Applied Linguistics, in the training courses and in the portuguese mother tongue classroom, allowing the problematization of differences and identities, the focus on the meaningful use of language and the recognition of the protagonism of language in the construction of a more peaceful, just and solidary society.
