O curriculo da biblioteconomia: perspectivas comparadas da desigualdade social na Universidade Federal da Bahia (Brasil) e na Universidad de Antioquia (Colombia)

Abstract

O fenômeno da desigualdade social no mundo é uma realidade presente em muitos países, mas com maior presença naquelas sociedades que, segundo a lógica capitalista do consumismo, são consideradas em desenvolvimento. Nesta classificação se encontram inseridos todos os países da esfera latino-americana, Situação que motivou a decisão de investigar a complexidade desta problemática a fim de compreender sua ocorrência no âmbito do currículo que media o processo formativo do ensino superior, especialmente do curso de biblioteconomia. Para isso, duas instituições latino-americanas foram utilizadas como campo de estudo. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de nível descritivo, um estudo de caso que buscou, usando duas instituições de ensino como campo de pesquisa, fazer uma caraterização do fenômeno da desigualdade social e analisar o tratamento que se faz nos currículos dos programas de Graduação em Ciência da Informação em várias instituições de educação superior, sob contextos diferentes. Assim, tem-se uma investigação classificada como qualitativa, de um estudo de caso cujos resultados podem contribuir na construção dos currículos dos cursos envolvidos na pesquisa e atuar como elemento de contribuição na formação profissional de atores éticos e políticos, comprometidos com a função social da informação.

The phenomenon of social inequality in the world is a reality present in many countries, but with a greater presence in those societies, which according to the capitalist logic of consumerism, are considered developing countries. In this classification are all the countries of the Latin American sphere, which led to the decision to investigate the complexity of this problem in order to understand its occurrence within the curriculum that mediates the formative process of higher education, especially the librarianship course in two Latin American institutions. The objective of this research is: to analyze how the librarian's training curriculum deals with social inequality at the Federal University of Bahia and at the University of Antioquia, to highlight the need for a greater emphasis in these academic curricula on the social role of information, to identify in the plans and programs that guide the professional formation of librarians, contents aimed at combating social inequality, portray the perceptions about the social inequality of the teachers involved in the training of these professionals. Study structured in chapters, the conceptions of inequality, the second the curriculum and its mediation in the formation; then, contextual characterization; the information professional; methodological course; final considerations. It is a descriptive level research on the objectives, which attempts to account for the characterization of the phenomenon of social inequality and to determine the treatment that is made in the curricula of undergraduate programs in information science in several institutions of higher education in different contexts; this approach makes it an investigation classified as qualitative, it is also a case study for wanting to look at the specific realities of two institutions in particular. The results of this study have to help to build the curricula of the courses involved in the research; the need to contribute to the professional training of political ethical actors committed to the social function of information is a product that leaves this study, as well as the participation of teachers in this process of emancipation. The curriculum must come to life to materialize a range of possibilities through access to information for all. The struggle to reduce inequalities must be carried out from all sectors of society and with a strong emphasis on the higher education sector, in which the public university has a great deal of transcendence.
