Maria Lúcia de Sousa Alves e a educação feminina na Bahia

Abstract

Esta tese de doutorado é resultado da pesquisa histórica feita em torno da educadora Maria Luiza de Sousa Alves quando do seu posicionamento em relação à educação feminina na Bahia e tem por objetivo geral analisar as contribuições de Maria Luiza de Sousa Alves para a educação na Bahia, em especial, para a educação feminina no início do século XX. Quanto aos objetivos específicos, consistem em caracterizar o contexto sociohistórico vivido por Maria Luiza de Sousa Alves (1862-1945); caracterizar o cenário educacional baiano no início do século XX e, em especial, a educação feminina; mapear a trajetória intelectual e profissional da educadora baiana Maria Luiza de Sousa Alves; levantar os pressupostos filosóficos que nortearam a formação e a atuação profissional e social da educadora Maria Luiza de Sousa Alves; levantar as concepções pedagógicas da educadora acerca da educação, escola, educador(a), educando(a), conhecimento e sociedade; e identificar as suas ideias e orientações acerca da educação feminina. A metodologia adotada seguiu os parâmetros da pesquisa bibliográfica, documental e do campo empírico, bem como o compreendeu as idéias de fatos pautados nas epistemologias feministas, que apontam para um campo multidisciplinar e defendem a pluralidade metodológica. A natureza histórica permitiu utilizar-se o “gênero” como categoria de análise para discutir a inserção feminina na educação baiana. A conclusão a que se chegou foi que, apesar da mulher ter se situado numa posição de inferioridade, foi possível compreender o gênero quanto às questões das relações produzidas no contexto sociohistórico, à luz da educação feminina no Estado da Bahia, quando surgiram nomes de educadoras como Maria Luiza de Souza Alves, que apesar do conservadorismo e de ter suas ideias pautadas em referenciais religiosos, a moralidade e educação instituída por esta em muito beneficiou a mulher, no sentido de minimizar as desigualdades entre os gêneros, a partir da educação.

ABSTRACT

This doctorate theory is resulted of the historical research done around the educator Maria Luiza of Sousa Alves when of this positioning in relation to the feminine education in Bahia and they has for general objective to analyze the contributions of Maria Luiza of Sousa Alves for the education in Bahia, especially, for the feminine education in the beginning of the séc. XX. As for the specific objectives, they consist of characterizing the context sociohistoric lived by Maria Luiza of Sousa Alves (1862- 1945); to characterize the from Bahia education scenery in the beginning of the séc. XX and, especially, the feminine education; to map the intellectual and professional path of the educator baiano Maria Luiza of Sousa Alves; to identify the philosophical presuppositions they orientated the formation and the educator's professional and social performance Maria Luiza of Sousa Alves; to lift the educator's pedagogic conceptions concerning the education, school, educador(a), educando(a), knowledge and society; and to identify their ideas and orientations concerning the feminine education. The methodology adopted for the development of the research followed the parameters of the research bibliographical, documental and of the empiric field, as well as this understood it the ideas of ruled facts in the feminist epistemologies, that they appear for a field multidisciplinary and they defend the methodological plurality, that through the historical nature, it was used of the “gender” as analysis category to discuss the feminine insert in the education baiano. The conclusion the one that she arrived was that in spite of the woman to have if located in an inferiority position, it was possible to understand the gender as for the subjects of the relationships produced in the context sociohistoric to the light of the feminine education in the State of Bahia, when educators' names appeared, as the one of Maria Luiza, that the in spite of the conservatism and to have their ruled ideas in religious references, the morality and education instituted by this in a lot benefitted the woman, in the sense of minimizing the inequalities among the goods, starting from the education.
