MEMÓRIA, MUSEUS, POLÍTICAS CULTURAL E EDUCACIONAL: REFLEXÕES SOBRE A AÇÃO CULTURAL E EDUCATIVA NOS MUSEUS DE ARTE SACRA, MUSEU AFRO-BRASILEIRO E MUSEU DE ARQUEOLOGIA E ETNOLOGIA DA UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DA BAHIA

Abstract

A presente pesquisa analisa as relações entre memória, poder e museu e aspectos das políticas cultural e educacional no Brasil, visando a contextualização e compreensão das ações culturais e educativas nos museus da Universidade Federal da Bahia. Procura-se ainda demonstrar a importância dos museus universitários como centros produtores e divulgadores do conhecimento científico. Trabalhamos com o Museu de Arte Sacra, Museu Afro-Brasileiro e Museu de Arqueologia e Etnologia. Para tanto, desenvolvemos uma pesquisa bibliográfica, arquivística e entrevistas com diretores e técnicos dos museus. A investigação demonstra a ausência de políticas específicas para os museus universitários da UFBA. Apesar disso, constata-se ainda que as ações culturais e educativas nesses museus ocorrem, ao longo dos anos, de forma irregular, apontando em alguns momentos, avanços em relação aos conceitos de museu e educação, principalmente, em função da atuação de profissionais nos órgãos oficiais e nas instituições museais.

This research analyzes the relations between memory, power and museums, and aspects of cultural and educational policies in Brazil, aiming at contextualizing and understanding cultural and educational actions in museums at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). It also seeks to demonstrate the importance of university museums as centers that produce and disseminate scientific knowledge. We work with The Sacred Art Museum, The Afro-Brazilian Museum, and The Museum of Archeology and Ethnology. To this end, we developed bibliographic and archival research, and interviews with museum directors and technicians. The investigation demonstrates the absence of specific policies for UFBA university museums. Despite this, it is also noticed that the cultural and educational actions in these museums occur, over the years, in an irregular way, pointing out, at times, advances about the concepts of museum and education, mainly due to the performance of professionals official bodies and museum institutions.
