      <title>O encontro através do espelho</title>

      <description>Título: O encontro através do espelho
Autor(es): Pereira, Beatriz Gonçalves de Alencar
Primeiro Orientador: Garcia Júnior, Pedro Alaim Martins
Abstract: Machado de Assis and Lygia Fagundes Telles, two renowned Brazilian authors, have explored&#xD;
a wide range of themes in their works, one of which is the double. This paper analyzes two&#xD;
short stories, “O Espelho” by Assis and “O Encontro” by Telles, with a particular focus on the&#xD;
motif of the double. The analysis begins with a summary of both narratives and a brief overview&#xD;
of how the theme of the double has been treated in history, based on the works of Ana Maria&#xD;
Lisboa de Mello (2000) and João Emeri Damasceno (2010). From this basis, the study explores&#xD;
the distinctive characteristics of each story and author. In the case of Machado de Assis, the&#xD;
emphasis is on his social critique, as discussed by Antonio Candido (1995), Alfredo Bosi&#xD;
(2014), and Stuart Hall (2006). For Lygia Fagundes Telles, the symbolic elements and the&#xD;
psychological depth of her characters are highlighted, following the analyses of Berenice Sica&#xD;
Lamas (2002) and Francisco Edson Gonçalves Leite (2013). Finally, the paper compares the&#xD;
two stories, emphasizing similarities, such as the duplication of the main characters, and&#xD;
differences, particularly in narrative voice, with Assis offering a critique of society and Telles&#xD;
focusing on the inner emotional states of her protagonists.

Abstract: Speakers of any language have the capacity to create new words, whether by utilizing the&#xD;
elements that are present in their own native language, by borrowing elements from other&#xD;
languages or by blending them. The vast virtual space allows numerous possibilities of&#xD;
analysis in all areas of linguistics studies, which is why this monograph, from the morphology&#xD;
area, uses the Dicionário inFormal website as the corpus for the research about hybridism,&#xD;
focusing, specifically, in words formed by the blend of Portuguese and English lexical&#xD;
elements. This monograph analyzes, with basis mainly on Sandmann (1989), Ribeiro; Rio&#xD;
Torto (2016) and Villalva (2020), the process that the speakers utilize in the formation and&#xD;
reproduction of these hybrid constructions, observing how they follow the&#xD;
morphophonological and orthographic rules of the Portuguese language. The analysis of the&#xD;
148 collected data highlighted the prevalence of the usage of derivation (affixal and by&#xD;
conversion), with 101 forms, and demonstrated that the Portuguese speaker, when forming&#xD;
and graphically recording hybrids, tends to follow the word formation rules of Portuguese.

      <title>Amy Levy e a poesia queer na era vitoriana uma tradução queer-feminista comentada de três poemas</title>
      <link>https://repositorio.ufba.br/handle/ri/43565</link>
      <description>Título: Amy Levy e a poesia queer na era vitoriana uma tradução queer-feminista comentada de três poemas
Autor(es): Souza, Ana Clara Cerqueira Santos de
Primeiro Orientador: Pfau, Monique
Abstract: This paper proposes the production of a Queer-Feminist commented translation of three poems written by the English author Amy Levy (1861–1889), namely “At a Dinner Party,” “Borderland,” and “To Vernon Lee.” The research is based in Christiane Nord’s functionalist approach (2016), Paulo Henriques Britto’s considerations on poetry translation (2002; 2016), and the theoretical principles of Queer-Feminist translation proposed by Marc Démont (2018) and Louise von Flotow (2021). The aim is to revive selected texts by Levy, introducing her work to Brazilian audiences. The methodology combines functionalist textual analysis with the commented translation procedure (Williams; Chesterman, 2014), critically reflecting on the formal and aesthetic aspects of the poems and applying strategies that highlight the feminine presence and queer nuances in the texts. The translation outcomes, “Em um banquete”, “Na fronteira”, and “Para Vernon Lee”, add to the understanding of relationships between queer women in the Victorian Era, drawing parallels with contemporary experiences. Therefore, this study contributes to the intersection of Translation Studies, Feminist Studies, and Queer Theory, indicating new possibilities for research on the poetic translation of queer women authors.&#xD;
Keywords: Amy Levy; Queer-Feminist translation; commented translation; poetry translation; functionalist translation.

      <title>A brincadeira ‘amarelinha’ em português europeu e em português brasileiro: estudo comparativo com os dados do TLPGP, do projeto ALliB e do ALERS</title>
      <link>https://repositorio.ufba.br/handle/ri/42704</link>
      <description>Título: A brincadeira ‘amarelinha’ em português europeu e em português brasileiro: estudo comparativo com os dados do TLPGP, do projeto ALliB e do ALERS
Autor(es): Souza, Veronica Almeida
Primeiro Orientador: Ribeiro, Silvana Soares Costa
Abstract: This term paper analyzed the different names for the game known as amarelinha by&#xD;
comparing lexical data from European Portuguese (Português Europeu – PE) and&#xD;
Brazilian Portuguese (Português Brasileiro – PB). This analysis aimed to verify the&#xD;
differences and similarities in the names of this children's game. The following data&#xD;
sources were used: the Galician and Portuguese Work Bank (Tesouro do léxico&#xD;
patrimonial Galego e Português), the ALiB Project, academic works based on the ALiB&#xD;
Project, and, finally, The Linguistic-Ethnographic Atlas of the Brazilian South Region&#xD;
(Atlas-Linguístico-Etnográfico da Região Sul do Brasil- ALERS Vol. 2) (Altenhofen;&#xD;
Klassmann, 2011). The theoretical assumptions underpinning this work were&#xD;
Dialectology (Cardoso, 2010) and Lexicology (Biderman, 2007). The academic works&#xD;
studied that analyzed the designations for amarelinha and contributed to the&#xD;
lexicological description and lexicographic research were the following: Ribeiro (2012);&#xD;
Portilho (2013); Ferreira (2015); Santos L. (2016); D' Anunciação (2016); Alencar&#xD;
(2018); Santos G. (2018) and Romano (2022). The research also involved consulting&#xD;
old and modern Portuguese language dictionaries, both European and Brazilian&#xD;
varieties, namely: Bluteau (1728); Moraes e Silva (1789); Figueiredo (1913); Houaiss&#xD;
(2009); Aulete; Valente (2024) and a folklore dictionary (Cascudo, 1988). Consultation&#xD;
of the dictionaries was motivated by the need to find lexicographic records of each of&#xD;
the variants identified that designate the play activity under analysis. The results&#xD;
obtained from the databases were organized into tables to make them easier to read&#xD;
and understand, as well as to provide a comprehensive view of the names given to&#xD;
children's games, highlighting possible areas of convergence and divergence between&#xD;
Brazil and Portugal in terms of the use of specific variants. Thus, a considerable&#xD;
number of designations were identified for the game in question, including academia,&#xD;
avião, caracol, cachaperna, céu- inferno, chicolapé, jogo do descanso, jogo do ferro,&#xD;
macaca and pé-coxinho. The study of this research object can contribute to&#xD;
understanding the cultural and historical influences on the naming process of children's games and is therefore relevant to lexical and dialectological studies and to Pedagogy, Ludology and Physical Education.
