Abstract: This research investigates how the City of Music of Bahia constitutes itself as a cultural&#xD;
facility and builds its legitimacy in the museum field in Salvador. It is based on the&#xD;
hypothesis that the space develops a twofold discursive strategy, presenting itself&#xD;
institutionally as a cultural facility, but publicly projecting an image of a museum by means&#xD;
of formal records, journalistic articles, and curatorial representations. Its general objective is&#xD;
to analyze the processes of promoting and perceiving the City of Music of Bahia as a&#xD;
museum, by investigating the construction of its meanings and symbolic legitimacies. Its&#xD;
specific objectives are to comprehend how institutional and media communication&#xD;
contributes to the construction of the imaginary about cultural facilities; to explore the&#xD;
conceptual and professional boundaries between cultural facilities and museums, based on the&#xD;
notion of cultural hybridism; and to analyze how the institutional structure and the&#xD;
participation of museology professionals influence the symbolic legitimation of the facility.&#xD;
The research adopts a qualitative, exploratory methodology, using study cases as the central&#xD;
approach, complemented by literature review and document analysis, including journalistic&#xD;
and digital analysis, institutional records, and direct observation of the space. The results&#xD;
indicate that the City of Music of Bahia is a hybrid cultural institution, whose strategy of&#xD;
discursive ambiguity enables the legitimization of the museum, but hides substantive&#xD;
weaknesses in the implementation of fundamental museological practices, such as the&#xD;
absence of a museological project and professionals from Museology. It is concluded that the&#xD;
space exemplifies the transformations of the contemporary cultural field, where hybrid&#xD;
institutions challenge traditional parameters, unveiling tensions between innovation and&#xD;
commitment to protocols in the Museology area.

Abstract: This Capstone project explores the use of fictional cinematic narratives as a means of support in museological communication. The primary research objective is to propose applying the cinematic fiction vision as a strategy to enhance audience interaction with the intrinsic knowledge embedded in museum collections. The specific objectives include conducting a critical review of key authors in the field of cinema and museological communication; contextualize Disney history, especially Brazilian perspective; fostering interaction between film content and museum holdings in museums with scientific estates; and developing a prototype interactive online platform to enrich the visitor experience. The adopted methodology will consist of applied research with a descriptive and exploratory approach. The results show that integrating museological communication with audiovisual language may broaden institutions' reach. The prototype portal demonstrated that it is possible to translate specialized content into accessible narratives to reach audiences from different contexts closer by.

Primeiro Orientador: Britto, Clovis Carvalho
Abstract: This study investigates the intersections between memory, photography, and museology,&#xD;
focusing on interactions with photopaintings and photographs in the Acervo da Laje, a&#xD;
neighborhood in the Subúrbio Ferroviário of Salvador, Brazil. Drawing on concepts such as&#xD;
afrografias and critical fabulation, it examines how family photographs and artistic practices&#xD;
engage with the preservation of peripheral memories and identities. Leda Martins’ concept of&#xD;
afrografias reveals photographic images that reflect Black identity and the processes of&#xD;
appropriation and reinterpretation of memory within the African diaspora, while critical&#xD;
fabulation, inspired by Saidiya Hartman, offers a reading of how invisible histories can be&#xD;
reimagined, challenging dominant narratives and highlighting silenced stories. The research&#xD;
adopts a qualitative methodology, including literature review, a case study with&#xD;
autobiographical approach and testimonials, as well as an analysis of the photopainting&#xD;
collection from the Acervo da Laje. Initially, the study explores the transformations of the&#xD;
photopaintings as revealed by Mestre Júlio Santos, and how these images integrate individual&#xD;
and collective memories. Next, it discusses the body as a crossroads of memories and the&#xD;
power of photopaintings as afrografias, analyzing narrative practices that build Black&#xD;
identities based on experiences in the Subúrbio Ferroviário and the Acervo da Laje. Finally, it&#xD;
presents the role of affective curatorships in valuing invisible histories, exemplified by the&#xD;
exhibition “Memórias para Dona Antônia,” where artistic reinterpretations of family photos&#xD;
re-signify affective and community ties. This research highlights the importance of&#xD;
Afrocentric museological practices that recognize peripheries as legitimate spaces of cultural&#xD;
production and memory, promoting the protagonism of historically marginalized people.
