Abstract: Given the importance of cities in the global context and the need for a focused look at urban centers in tackling the climate crisis, this study aims to relate changes in land use and cover to carbon storage capacity in the urban area of Salvador for the years 1985, 2023, and 2040. The study is structured in two stages, “evolution of land use and cover” and “evolution of carbon storage levels”, addressing the methodologies separately. Although the results are presented separately, they establish correlations between them. Regarding land use and cover, data for the years 1985 and
2023 were extracted from MapBiomas (Collection 9) and were selected because they represent the temporal extremes of the available historical series. For the future projection, the MOLUSCE plugin was used to simulate changes based on temporal data and spatial variables. For carbon storage, the Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Tradeoffs (InVEST) software was used, specifically the Carbon Storage and Sequestration module. To process the data obtained in both stages, which are in raster format, a Geographic Information System (GIS) was used, specifically the QGIS 3.32.2 software. With the support of this tool, tables and figures were
developed to establish correlations between quantitative land cover (km²) and its spatial distribution, for both land use and cover and carbon storage in the study area. It is concluded that there is a directly proportional relationship between green areas and high levels of carbon storage, observed over time in the urban area of Salvador. Furthermore, the conversion of green areas into built environments over the years has imposed significant spatial transformations that have directly impacted the provision of ecosystem services, including gas regulation, with a direct impact on climate regulation. Therefore, building urban resilience must involve territorial planning and,
above all, nature-based solutions, with climate action plans that engage with the spatial reality of the municipality’s urban area.

Abstract: Traditional communities maintain a harmonious relationship with space and nature. These interactions are revealed through their ways of life, which are rooted in ancestral practices passed down through generations. Based on these connections, guaiamum fishing communities have mobilized to protect their traditional fishing practices and their ways of life. As a tool for mobilization and coping with the conflicts surrounding their guaiamum fishing practices, the community members of the Canavieiras Extractive Reserve, located in southern Bahia, chose to register on the Traditional Territories Platform. This paper, therefore, has the general objective of discussing the effects of registering the guaiamum fishing territory on the aforementioned platform and thus understanding the contradictions linked to the visibility of the territory that the registration provides. To this end, we will pose some fundamental questions, such as to what extent the development of the document can strengthen self-knowledge for territorial self-management, what are the possible impacts of not including communities in the Canavieiras Extractive Reserve's demarcation, and what role do institutions and legal instruments play in strengthening territorial self-management. Thus, to develop the registration process, we took as a starting point an action research approach, aligned with the qualitative method, based on joint action with the communities. To ensure complementarity, theoretical materials were used alongside practical field activities. The registration process of the Goiamunzeiro Territory on the Traditional Territories Platform, although still under analysis, proved to be an important tool for valuing community knowledge, political strengthening, and identity affirmation of the guaiamum fishing communities. More than a formal registration, the initiative generated internal reflections focused on community self-management through traditional knowledge and the protection of lifeways and territory.

Abstract: This work aims to develop a conceptual model of geospatial data applied to the
Sanitary Interventions and Urban Leptospirosis Prevention Project, which carries out
its activities in urban communities of Salvador (BA). It addresses the challenges arising
from the absence of a geographic database, such as lack of standardization, data
duplication, versioning issues, and limited traceability. Considering that the
requirements gathering and analysis phase precedes conceptual modeling, a
questionnaire was applied to the main producers and users of the project's geospatial
data, through which needs, data types, attributes, and spatial relationships were
identified. Based on this, a conceptual model was developed using the object-oriented
OMT-G approach, and represented with the online tool OMT-G Designer. The resulting
class diagram is centered on the spatial unit "block", which guides the data collection
activities of the project. It is concluded that conceptual modeling can significantly
contribute to the systematization of the project's geospatial data, enabling the
development of a logical model and, subsequently, the implementation of a geographic
database. This process is essential for strengthening data governance and facilitating
the development of applications aimed at data dissemination and analysis, with the
goal of supporting strategic actions, especially in the field of public health.

Abstract: Actually, most teachers when adopting unattractive methodologies and with short connection
with the reality of their students, reinforces the stereotype of Geography as a “decorative”
subject. This study aims to contribute to new teaching-learning configurations in a fun and
entertaining way. To this end, it proposes the use of active methodologies, but specifically
gamification, in two teaching proposals, using the following digital games: League of
Legends and Minecraft. These games were presented and experienced by a class of students
on a licentiate in Geography at the Federal University of Bahia who, in the near future, will
be future teachers of the subject and in this research correspond to our target audience. This
work is organized according to the following methodological stages: bibliographic research
of key words, development of “gamified” praxis, construction of hornbooks with with
theoretical content and explanation of the proposed practices, application of the didactics to
the target audience and evaluation of the proposals using a questionnaire. After analysis, most
of the results revealed that the future teachers considered the didactics to be playful and to
promote immersion, placing the student at the center of the teaching-learning process.
