On a cold afternoon with continuous drizzle on July 9, 2024, we had a beautiful and pleasant meeting with treats and coffee on Avenida Paulista at Café Ristoro, Casa das Rosas, São Paulo. The following participated as interviewers: Claudio Ubiratan Gonçalves, Gilca Garcia de Oliveira, Hingryd Inácio de Freitas, Lucas Zenha Antonino, and Mônica Cox de Britto Pereira. She holds a degree in Business Administration from the State University of Maringá and a master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in 1982. She completed her doctorate in Geography at the University of Barcelona in 1993. She was an employee of Banco do Brasil, performing various activities in the branches of Cascavel - PR, Maringá - PR and Centro Porto Alegre - RS, 1969-1978. An employee of DESENVALE - Companhia de Desenvolvimento do Vale do Paraguaçu, she was an advisor to the Presidency, and oversaw the implementation of the Pedra do Cavalo resettlement centers, 1983-1987. Employee of "CAR - Companhia de Desenvolvimento e Ação Regional", an agency of the Secretariat of Planning, Science and Technology of the Government of the State of Bahia, in the position of Technician in Regional Development, she carried out several activities, highlighting the monitoring and implementation of the "1st National Agrarian Reform Plan - PNRA" in the State of Bahia, execution of projects for the "Special Credit Program for Agrarian Reform areas - PROCERA", and the elaboration of "A Sustainable Development Strategy for the Northeast - Arid Project", 1987-1996. Professor of the Postgraduate Program in Geography, at the Institute of Geosciences of the Federal University of Bahia. In the late 1990s, she created the GeografAR project (Geography of Settlements in Rural Areas). In 2016, she was awarded the title of citizen of Bahia by the Legislative Assembly of Bahia. In 2021, she was honored for her contribution to postgraduate studies in Geography in Brazil by ANPEGE at the XIV National Meeting of Postgraduate Studies and Research in Geography.
