Abstract: The present study aims to analyse how teaching processes mediated by cinematographic productions can improve the teaching of Natural Sciences in Elementary School II. Configuring one of the most popular and influential forms of media and art in contemporary society, cinema can tell/portray stories, transmit values, cultures, and customs. In this way, it is interesting that the academy focuses not only on its educational dimension, but also on its relationship with the different fields of knowledge and on how to use it in the practice of teaching, including in the Natural Sciences. That said, to achieve the intended, we sought to understand, in the light of the consulted bibliography, the possibilities of articulation between cinematographic productions and Science Teaching in Elementary School from the guiding documents of Brazilian education, in addition to a survey of reports of teachers of this teaching cycle, with the intention of understanding their perceptions about the different processes of teaching Science mediated by cinematographic productions. From these analyses, one can see that the relationship between Cinema and Science Teaching is full of potential, being possible to use films in the work of the most diverse subjects, although some issues persist that make this association difficult. In the meantime, the present research allows to admit that the cinema is extremely enriching to the teaching of Natural Sciences, being able to help not only in the work of the laws, concepts, and history of the sciences, but also in the stimulation of scientific curiosity.
